About

The builder behind Emerson Foundry

Emerson Foundry is the studio of Adam G. Emerson, a software engineer and designer with 8 years of experience building websites, software, and automation for businesses of all kinds, all around the country. The studio exists to give small businesses what they rarely get: one senior person who can think through the problem and build the solution.

Adam's background runs from film production and magazine art direction to full-stack engineering and academic research. It still shows in the work: a producer's respect for schedules, an art director's eye for detail, and an engineer's care for what happens after launch.

Why a foundry?

A foundry is where raw material gets shaped into something solid and useful.

That's the work: taking a messy process, an outdated site, or an idea on a napkin and turning it into something built to last. The mark is an E and an F made of motion lines, because the other half of the job is speed. Good work, delivered without wasted motion.

How the studio works

Five promises on every project, big or small.

Direct
You talk to the person doing the work. Always.
Honest
If you don't need something, or someone else would be a better fit, you'll hear that up front.
Built to hand off
Documentation, clean code, and accounts you own. No lock-in.
Curious
The goal is to understand your business, not just the ticket in front of it.
People first
Technology should serve the people who use it and do the work. That includes choosing how much AI goes into your project.
Credentials

Research that shapes the work

Adam is a PhD student and GAANN Fellow in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Texas at Arlington, working in the Hybrid Atelier lab with a focus on creativity. The research looks at how people negotiate technology in their work and creative lives, and how AI can support creative professionals rather than displace them. That shapes every client project: start with the people and the practices, then choose the technology.

Working together

“Adam has been the only true A-player we have hired right from the start. … He's very intelligent, forward-thinking, proactive, kind, and just a good human being to work with.”
